Your tasks & responsibilities?
Are you a technically strong designer with a passion for industrial installations and 3D engineering? Do you enjoy working in an environment where you both create new designs and optimize existing installations? Then this role might be for you.
As a Plant Engineering Designer, you play a key role within our engineering department. You are responsible for developing industrial installations and plant layouts in a 3D environment, both for new builds and for modifications to existing installations (brownfield projects).
You work with tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk Inventor, Vault Professional and Navisworks. In addition, you actively use 3D scans (point clouds via Autodesk ReCap) to correctly integrate new designs into the existing situation.
You translate concepts, P&IDs and technical specifications into manufacturable, safe and efficient designs, ensuring everything is correctly aligned with other disciplines.
You work with tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, Autodesk Inventor, Vault Professional and Navisworks. In addition, you actively use 3D scans (point clouds via Autodesk ReCap) to correctly integrate new designs into the existing situation.
You translate concepts, P&IDs and technical specifications into manufacturable, safe and efficient designs, ensuring everything is correctly aligned with other disciplines.
Your responsibilities:
- Designing and modeling plant layouts, piping and steel structures in 3D
- Developing detailed drawings and assembly drawings
- Integrating 3D scan data (point clouds) into your design
- Checking designs for fit and clashes using Navisworks
- Coordinating with project engineers, other disciplines and external partners
- Thinking along about optimizations, maintenance access and safety
- Managing Vault Professional (structure, revisions, workflows)
- Ensuring correct and consistent storage of drawings and models
- Supporting colleagues as a key user
- Contributing to the further optimization of our CAD and data standards
Who are you?
- You have a degree in electromechanics, mechanical design, or equivalent experience
- You have experience with 3D CAD in an industrial environment
- You are familiar with (or willing to learn to work with):
- AutoCAD Plant 3D
- Autodesk Inventor
- Vault Professional
- Navisworks
- Having experience with 3D scans / point clouds (ReCap) is a strong asset
- You have a good technical understanding of mechanical constructions and plant layout
- You work accurately and in a structured manner
- You think in a solution-oriented and practical way
- You communicate smoothly within a project team
- You take responsibility and have an eye for quality
